A sequence intended for communication with extraterrestrial intelligence, transmitted in 1974 from the Arecibo radio telescope
The sequence can be assembled as a low-resolution bitmap image. The image includes at the end a distorted version of the binary sequences for successive integers. It also has atomic numbers of various elements, and bitvectors for components of DNA, as well as idealized pictures of a DNA molecule, a human, and the radio telescope that sent the message.
