Number of reported cases of selected contagious diseases like rubella, mumps, and polio by country from 2009 to 2014. Contagious diseases are also called infectious diseases or communicable diseases since they can be passed from person to person either by air, touch, or bodily fluids.

Diseases in this dataset include: t.b. gambiense, t.b. rhodesiense, cholera, meningitis, rubella (German measles), diptheria, Japanese encephalitis, leprosy, malaria, measles, rubeola, mumps, parotitis, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), plague, poliomyelitis (polio), tuberculosis, yellow fever, and leishmaniosis
